  • A Turkish Delight, or “Lokum” in Turkish, is a small sugary confection infused with various flavors. They’re satisfyingly chewy, like a gumdrop, with a powdered sugar finish. Rumor has it that a Turkish confectioner moved to Istanbul from Anatolia, where the confection’s popularity grew so great it caught the eye of the Sultan and he was appointed chef confectioner to the palace.

  • Shmelke was the nickname for our founder’s grandfather, Stuart Moldaw. He was born in Brooklyn, MA, and after World War II moved to California where he started his storied career in business and politics.
